These courses are available for Qualified Plumbers and Plumbers with at least 3 years of experience in the plumbing trade.

Yes, both courses are QCTO registered. Learners who are found competent at the end of the course will receive a QCTO certificate as a qualification.

• Solar Hot Water Installer: 4 and a half days
• Hot Water Systems Installer Heat Pump Installer: 2 and a half days

The courses will be presented by Deacon’s Solar and Plumbing at Lesedi Skills Academy, located at 9 Novell Building, Corner Neil Hare and John Dreyer Street, Atlantis, Cape Town.

Each course consists of two segments:

• A theoretical component presented in a classroom environment with Summative and Formative assessments.
• A practical component where learners will perform installations of solar geysers and collectors, and fit heat pumps to geysers.

Learners are required to have either a laptop, iPad, notebook, or smartphone. The full course material will be sent to each learner and accessed with a unique code allocated to them.

The courses are presented by a qualified instructor with extensive experience in the plumbing industry, having worked in the field since 1993 and having obtained qualifications as a Solar Hot Water Installer and Heat Pump Installer. The instructor also holds qualifications as an Assessor, Facilitator, and Moderator.
