Our Story
Founded by a seasoned plumber with over three decades of experience, Deacon’s Solar and Plumbing has grown from a small service provider to a leading name in the plumbing industry. With a background in plumbing since 1993 and qualifications as a Solar Hot Water Installer and Heat Pump Installer, we bring a wealth of knowledge and hands-on experience to every project and training session.
In addition to providing exceptional plumbing services, we are committed to addressing the growing demand for skilled professionals in the renewable energy sector. To support this, we offer accredited training courses that allow plumbers to advance their knowledge and expand their services.
Our Courses
We specialize in offering two QCTO-registered courses designed for qualified plumbers and those with a minimum of 3 years of experience in the plumbing trade:
- SAQA ID 94619: Solar Hot Water Installer
- SAQA ID 94620: Hot Water Systems Installer Heat Pump Installer
Both courses aim to enhance the skill sets of plumbers, enabling them to offer advanced solar and heat pump installation services. Upon successful completion, learners will receive a QCTO certificate as recognition of their qualification.

- Theoretical Component – Delivered in a classroom environment, with Summative and Formative assessments.
- Practical Component – Learners will gain hands-on experience installing solar geysers, collectors, and heat pumps on-site.

Our Instructor
With decades of industry experience, our instructor has a deep understanding of the plumbing trade and its challenges. Certified as an Assessor, Facilitator, and Moderator, they are dedicated to providing a thorough learning experience that bridges the gap between classroom theory and real-world application. Our instructor’s extensive background in both plumbing and renewable energy systems ensures that all learners are equipped with the skills they need to succeed in the evolving plumbing industry.
